The Dietary Habits of 8 Lovely Lady Celebrities

dietary habits

It’s one of the requirements of the job of a celebrity to look great as close to “always” as possible. The fact is, if they want the majority of people to enjoy watching them work, they have to project an image that draws our attention and holds it there for the length of time which they appear in a film or TV show. They also have to keep this image alive when they are attending events such as premiers, award ceremonies or any other public appearances. Their dietary habits are a core part of this image maintenance.

If you take a look past the immediate facade presented by most celebrities, you will see that there is a whole concerted effort to turn out how we expect to see them. In fact it is vital for them and their sponsors that they maintain a high level of consistency in their outward appearance.

Each celebrity is a type of “brand”, the same as Nike or Samsung. Except their logo is not a recognizable piece of artwork, such as the Nike swoosh, but rather it is their face, style and work for which they are known. The whole package, from hairstyle, clothing, mannerisms and physical shape, is closely monitored and managed to keep them looking their best.

Now we know that the top celebrities are almost an industry unto themselves, we can infer that they have certain individual, specialized knowledge in the area of keeping attractive and in top shape. The types of things they are doing to maintain this look/image are: exercise, diet plans, surgery, coaching.

The amount of money and resources thrown into them is quite mind-boggling. Some of what they do is not accessible to everyone, such as surgery or sleeping in oxygen tanks, but we can take advantage of what has been released in terms of their dietary habits. Following is a list of the dietary habits from eight very well-known women celebrities.

The Dietary Habits of…

1. Beyoncé

The world famous singer/dancer had already created and released her own diet plan back in 2013 called “Beyoncé’s Kitchen“. After giving birth to twins, she revived the diet for herself in 2018 for a come-back performance at the Coachella festival.

This is a vegan diet that is quite calorie-restricted. As such it has drawn criticism for being somewhat too severe, possibly bringing about nutritional deficiencies for those who follow it. For Beyoncé, however, the results speak for themselves.

2. Claudia Schiffer

To trim down and hit that supermodel look, she will eat only salad and vegetables that have been cooked by steaming for the evening meal.

During the morning she restricts herself to fruit only. Black grapes are a favorite of hers on location. Tomato juice and various herbal teas keep her refreshed and hydrated along with water.

3. Jennifer Aniston

This one is perhaps best known for her role in the hit TV series “Friends”. She had an iconic hairstyle and was able to make millions of people laugh with a light and humorous demeanor.

She kept herself in incredibly good shape and was constantly in high demand for photo shoots, interviews and appearances. Jennifer makes use of a diet known as the 40:30:30 method. The diet consists of:

  • 40% Low glycemic carbohydrates
-Foods such as beans, legumes, fruits and vegetables,
  • 30% lean proteins
-Tofu, fish, chicken, turkey, beef and low fat dairy products
  • 30% essential fats
-Nuts and seeds, fish and olive oils

Her dietary habits and meals would be managed to contain required nutrients and possibly a caloric deficit. This would be required in order to keep weight low or cause her body weight to drop.

4. Gwyneth Paltrow

This actress has remained consistently slim for quite a few years running now. She does this by sticking to dietary habits that works for her. It also happens to include some classically “healthy” components such as the avoidance of sugars, white flour and other simple carbohydrates. She has eliminated all dairy products from her diet and also keeps consistently active. She usually follows a macrobiotic diet, eating foods like vegetables, brown rice, and lean meat.

5. Oprah Winfrey

Despite having a body-type that quickly and easily puts on weight, Oprah has become one of the most successful people in the world beginning with her tremendously consumed talk-show, “Oprah”. She was already globally famous when she really made a push to get on top of her own weight-gain issues. Her public struggle, and perceived success in her personal battle, only further propelled her to higher levels of fame and fortune. To do this she has committed to exercise and diet and made it an integral part of her lifestyle.

For five days a week she engages in work outs and exercise, spending 30 minutes on the treadmill, lifting weights for repetitions, stretching and conditioning. She consumes a diet low in fat and consisting of: legumes, fish, nuts, fruits and vegetables, chicken and dairy. As well as limiting her consumption of simple carbohydrates such as sugar and white flour, Oprah also controls her metabolism by refraining from eating anything after seven in the evening.

6. Kate Hudson

Goldie Hawn had a daughter and named her Kate. Kate got married and changed her surname to Hudson. Then she got pregnant and gained 60 pounds, which is perfectly natural and normal but then she had a new movie to work on and had to get back to her pre-pregnant weight and look. Of course there was lots of exercise.

Weight training, cardio-vascular conditioning and stretching. Her diet went to a more or less ketogenic regime. She would eat high protein meals in small portions fairly frequently. Through a lot of persistence and dedication, she was able to not only lose the extra weight that she had gained during pregnancy, but she sculpted herself quite a defined physique in the process. I think she did her movie too.

7. Madonna

Madonna is kind of like a modern-day yogic nun. She has displayed absolute commitment to her path of Ashtanga Yoga and an almost ascetic dietary lifestyle. Her physical body has evolved from a quite normal girl-next-door type of structure, to that of an accomplished yoga practioner. She displays musculature and vascularity that does not appeal to everyone’s taste. What’s important is that she is happy with herself. She adopted a macrobiotic eating plan that includes organic foods rich in lean protein.

8. Christie Brinkley

As a supermodel, Christie is under extraordinary pressure to maintain her good looks at all times. Her diet of choice, that works very well for her, is vegetarian. To get slim quickly, she switches to juiced fruits and vegetables with little to no solids. This practice can lead to nutritional deficiencies if carried on for too long. Naturally, junk food of any kind is shunned and kept well out of reach.

The Takeaway

Although people like to put celebrities on such a high pedestal that they are almost deified, celebrities are actually just human beings the same as you or I. They are not all genetically gifted with demi-god physical structure. They have to work on and maintain the great looks that you see projected on the movie screen and magazine page. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, they spend literally millions of dollars to keep them looking the way they do. We can at least take some tips from the dietary habits that they admit to, and adapt them for use in our own lifestyles to achieve our best body shape.
